Seriously, what was the need for guns and vehicles?

I think they were trying to get a larger appeal for the FPS fanboys such as that john kid.

Well, there is ONE charachter I could see using guns and still be in charachter. Sonic's self from their anti-dimension, Scourge (from the origional comic series). He is pure evil, and imo he would probably use guns (he is the opposit of sonic after all)
